The attached zip file includes a full working example in Spanish, Portuguese and English of a MIDlet that makes use of multiple threads and the PositionConnector class to obtain aGPS and cellsite based location on an iDEN device.

NII Network-Based Location API Application Developer’s Guide (Version 1.0)
This document describes the LIF/MLP protocol developed by the Open Mobile Alliance, a method for obtaining an iDEN device's GPS coordinates remotely without the need for having a client application installed on the device. This platform, enabled through Openwave Location Studio, allows for location requests through the network using GPS or using cell-site coordinates when GPS is unavailable.
