The Blackberry Java Development Environment (JDE) is a complete integrated development environment (IDE) that is extremely useful for the development of BlackBerry applications using Java ME. Aside from standard IDE features like code completion, syntax highlighting, etc, the JDE includes a series of tools that speed up the debugging and optimization:

• full Java SE-based development environment
• device emulators for on-workstation testing
• on-device and on-emulator debugging tools
• an application profiler to optimize application memory use, threads, etc.
