CALLING ALL DEVELOPERS! NII Holdings is paving the way for a more developer friendly way of operating our app strategy. As part of this initiative, we are looking for new and innovative apps to work with J2ME.

Why J2ME you ask? Let us tell you. NII Holdings is the largest network of Nextel (iDEN) Carriers in the world with presence in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Perú and Chile, and with over 10 Million users across all of these markets. 85% of them still have handsets with J2ME and a large majority of those users are looking for apps and solutions for business and/or personal use. Be it a vertical or horizontal app, game or logistics app, we want to hear about it. So if you have a great app, or a great idea for an app, now is the time to make it shine!

Send a detailed description of your app, or idea for an app, in a Word or PowerPoint document to developerprogram@nii.com. Our team will evaluate it and respond with the next steps on how we will proceed. If we decide to commercialize it, we will work with you on launching it in some or all of our markets. Let NII help you get your J2ME app to our customers!

Of course, if you have Android or BlackBerry vertical apps, we would love to hear about those too!
